One of the main ways they test for hypermobility and the hypermobile form of EDS is by the Beighton Scale. The Beighton Scale tests based on if someone can do specific things without it being overly difficult.
They test if you touch both of your thumbs to your wrist, if you can pull your pinky back 90 degrees or more, straighten your arm and your elbow hyper extends, straighten your knees and it goes past 180 degrees, and if you stand with knees straight and touch your palms to the floor.
